is an expanding, global company in Lower Bavaria, right at the Austrian border. We deal with braiding and insulating sleeves for thermal and electrical insulation as well as for the areas of plastics reinforcement and lightweight for over half a century.
When German SMEs we are regionally connected and on the go on the international stage. In SILTEX values are still alive, but does not insist on old. On the contrary: We are open to new things and have fun with creative ideas. Thanks to this curiosity, combined with technical excellence and high flexibility, we include in each of our business to the technological leaders.

Siltex supplies braided fabrics and insulating sleeves for the automotive industry.

For years we have been a reliable partner of the energy industry with our insulation materials.

Whoever wants to go high. They trusts in the quality and reliability of our products.

Our products are a good choice on land, sea and rail.

The restoration of mobility with the materials of the future. An important topic...

Everyone is talking about electric mobility, we have developed products for lighter,...
Aramid belongs to the latest group of chemical fibres. Its special capabilities are a highstrength, a high E-modulus, a low density as well as a good acceptance to work. That’s why Aramid is excellent to use in different fields of industry, as already used in fibre compound materials of high demanded parts of aviation and astronautics, for vehicle-,electric- and sport article-industry, and last but not least for ballistic protection.
Carbon fibres (also called carbon fibres or carbon) are industrially produced fibres from carbon-containing raw materials which are converted into graphite-like carbon by pyrolysis. A carbon fiber has a diameter of about 5-8 micrometers. Usually 1,000 to 50,000 individual fibres (filaments) are combined to form a roving, which is wound on spools.
E-glass fiber is the most common reinforcing material for fiber composites; glass fibers are inexpensive and have excellent mechanical, thermal, dielectric and chemical properties. The strength properties are similar to those of metals (e.g. aluminium alloys), although the specific weight is lower than that of metals. Glass fibers are non-combustible, temperature-resistant up to approx. 700 °C and resistant to most chemicals and weather influences.
Quartz-based glass is mainly used for high-temperature applications up to 1200 °C.
There are two variants:
1. a smooth yarn, which has no visual difference to standard E-glass.
2. a textured yarn, which is a wool-like yarn. It is suitable for high and rapid temperature fluctuations.
Basalt is a dark grey to black, dense, medium-grained, volcanic rock. The basalt fibre is a 100% inorganic, mineral, continuous filament, which was only released for civil use in 1995. The size of the diameter of 11.0 µm guarantees the best compromise between stability, durability and cost. Furthermore, the fibre has a natural gold-brown colour, which can be used for decorative purposes.
Cotton is one of the natural fibres. This natural material is characterised by its high elasticity and low density. Cotton is widely used in the textile industry and as a fibre composite material.

Cotton sleeves are suitable for the production of profiles of any kind, as spars or other hollow constructions, ….

The advantage of cotton braided tapes compared to a woven material is the coverage of a larger width range.
Flax (also called linen) is a natural fibre. This natural material is characterised by a high tensile strength comparable to glass fibre and a low density. Flax is used as a fibre composite material in the automotive and sporting goods industries.
The polyester fibres are available in many different colours, from bright colours to gold and silver. Polyester has a temperature resistance of about 180°C.
Hybride is defined as „something bundled, crossed, or mixed“. In braiding technology terms we speak here of sleeves or tapes, produced from no less than 2 different materials, i.e. carbon and aramid. Materials ratio can vary depending on the equipment used. Hybrides‘ ratio can be as much as 10:90.
The monofilament fibres from which the sleeves are made are characterized by their high stiffness and hardness. These sleeves therefore have a wide range of applications.
An insulating sleeve is intended to protect, protect against electrical voltage / current, such as heat, cold, radiation, friction, chemicals, salt water, acids, alkalis, high voltage. Sometimes several factors come together such as protection against alkalis and acids and high temperatures.
Fiberglass sleeves for insulation with various coatings and silicones or thermically rounded.
PVC sleeve manufactured according to DIN 40621, with heat class A (up to +105°C).
Production is based on EN 60684-3-121 to 124. The tubes correspond to thermal class "C" (-60°C to +220°C).
