The advantage of carbon braiding tapes over a woven material is that they cover a larger width range. Thus one can not only influence the width of a braided tape by stretching or compressing, but also the fibre angle. In this way, only one carbon braid can be used for a composite component with several layers. The fiber angle should be between 30° and 60°. For reinforcement in the 0° direction, so-called UD threads can be braided in, which can also consist of a different material. The carbon fibres we use are particularly suitable for processing with epoxy and polyester systems.
